Lanka's Capital City
Most trips to Sri Lanka begins in the capital city of Colombo. The city retains much of its colonial charm, but is rapidly giving way to a more modern persona, no doubt driven by the anticipated rise in tourism. Our own stay in Colombo was brief this time; we landed, staying overnight at the Colombo Hilton and then returninb following our visit to the southwest coast. To anyone contemplating travel to Sri Lanka, there is a great deal to see and to do in Colombo.
